The first and most common wedge is the pitching wedge. It generally has a loft of 48 to 50 degrees and is primarily used for full swings into the green and longer chips. However, due to the high bounce, a sand wedge is also recommended in order to be able to play the ball out more easily in bunkers or high grass.
